6 August Princess /Knight Game August 6, 2015 Gamification 0 This bed-wetting game will let your little one feel like a prince or princess battling the evil bed-wetting witch. Gamification can help take the stigma out of bed-wetting and even make battling the problem fun! Print out the board and follow the instructions below. See How to Gamify the Problem for more tips. 1. Let your child decorate/color the board and figures and choose a figure to represent himself or herself. 2. Cut out figures and either attach velcro, magnets or sticky tack (anything to get the figures to stay on the board) to backs of figures and to each box on the road on the playing board. 3. Cut out the playing cards. These cards will be used when your child lands on either the fairy or witch boxes in the top right and left corners of the playing board. 4. You may want to laminate the players and board (or even mount the board on cardboard) if you are planning on repeated use. After lamination, use dry erase markers to keep track of points. 5. Develop your own point system. Assign points to parts of the night time routine. Each part can have its own number of points and you can assign points to as many things as you want (try to keep it under 10 though so your children can remember them all). Your children always forget to use the toilet the second time? Up their motivation by assigning it more points than the other parts. 6. Each space on the board should equal 1-4 points (depending on how your point system works). It shouldn't be too easy for your child to win, but it also shouldn't be impossible. If your child wins around 75% of the time, then your game is probably an appropriate level of difficulty. 7. Explain the rules to your child. 8. Play and reward your child when he or she wins!
